Camp Kiya is a music camp in the Tehachapi mountains. For the second year, harp is being offered by master harper Aedan MacDonnell. Along with beginning harp, she will be teaching Irish ornamentation, playing by ear, basic music theory, and playing with others.
At Camp Kiya you can also try different instruments from fiddle and guitar, to cello, whistle, mandolin, ukulele, percussion and bass to name a few. Dance classes are also an option. Aedan will be teaching Cape Breton step dance. Other classes are hula and belly dance. Ceili's, with music and dance, are presented every evening in the dining hall. And there are many jamming opportunities in the campsite.
